Jagjit singh The legend.


In this blog, I want to write some of the amazing moments which I spent with the legendary ghazal singer Jagjit Singh. I was always fascinated by the voice and persona of this maestro.

In 2006,  Monty Saiyed (Me) and my amazing team hosted one of the most renowned Ghazal singer, the legend Jagjit Singh Live in Concert!  The show brought in a whopping 4200 people together. It was one of the biggest shows in Chicago! 

It has been about three decades since Sudarshan Faakir wrote the hauntingly beautiful lyrics that begin with Woh Kaagaz Ki Kashti… The lines, about wanting to relive childhood, attained immortality on their own. But when Jagjit Singh sang them for the Mahesh Bhatt film Aaj, he brought out the poignancy of the song in a way that transported listeners to another world. Such was the magic of the ghazal maestro’s voice.

The crowd was blessed to enjoy this Awesome Ghazal Maestros voice in final concert abroad as he passed away in 2011. Mr. Saiyed’s successful journey continued with hit shows. Never thought that would be his last show abroad, May his soul rest in peace.

Sadaf Jaffer :Breaking all barriers

The story of SADAF JAFFER is truly inspirational and has some amazing takeaways. After she became the first south east Asian woman to sworn in as mayor of Montgomery, New Jersey. The Pakistani American has committed herself to social equity and instruction. Brought up in Chicago, Illinois, Jaffer says her parents played an important role in keeping her encouraged throughout her journey. Sadaf Jaffer is a Harvard graduate, mother, activist and five-year resident of Montgomery and now she joins the elite list of historic elections in 2018.

For him, the flag represents unity, as worshippers of both faiths live peacefully in America.
